Texas Ink Fingerprinting

Ink fingerprinting has always been, and will always be the a gold standard when it comes to identity verification for several reasons. No two people have the same fingerprinting, including identical twins, which is why the enduring significance lies in its ability to produce clear and distinct fingerprint impressions. By capturing the unique patterns that make each individual’s fingerprints truly one-of-a-kind, it makes each persons identity easy to verify. This clarity is crucial for ensuring accurate identification and plays a pivotal role in various applications.

One of the key advantages of ink fingerprinting is the unique level of versatility. Some customers opt for digital methods like live scan, which are sent directly to the requesting agency, but ink fingerprinting serves a purpose where traditional fingerprints are explicitly required. There are government agencies, legal proceedings, and specific organizations that still mandate the use of ink fingerprints for certain reasons.

What is Ink Fingerprinting?

Ink fingerprinting is a secure and widely accepted method for capturing an individual’s unique fingerprint patterns. Fingerprints are often required for various purposes, such as background checks, employment screenings, and professional licensing. When you select us for ink fingerprinting services, we take your fingerprints using a special ink and fingerprint cards.

The Ink Fingerprint Process

Preparation: Before the actual fingerprinting, we need to make sure that your hands are clean and dry. We will provide instructions on the proper positioning of fingers and apply the right amount of pressure without making you uncomfortable.

Ink Application: We use a specialized ink to your fingertips. This ink is specifically made to create clear and easily legible ink impressions on fingerprint cards.

Card Placement: Then, we will roll your fingertips onto a fingerprint card in a specific pattern. There is no need to worry when we oversee the process ensuring that each fingerprint is distinct and captured without error.

Card Completion: Once all the required fingerprints are captured, fill out the fingerprint card with additional information, including your personal details, the reason for the fingerprints, and any relevant case or file numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I do not have the ink card(s)?

Fortunately, we will provide the standard FBI FD-258 fingerprint cards for your convenience. Any other ink card or form variant must come from the requesting agency. However, some agencies will accept the FD-258 as a substitute. Check with the requesting agency if you are unsure.

How long do the ink fingerprinting take to process?

On average, fingerprint cards take an average of 4 weeks to process, but there are some instances where it may take longer.

Do I receive a copy of the results?

Generally, the results are sent directly to the requesting agency. The agency is not obligated to share the results with you. On the other hand, if you request your own ink fingerprinting for personal use (e.g., to review your own record, for international travel, or for certain proceedings where you need to provide it yourself), in this scenario, you are the "requesting agency" for your own information. Therefore, the results will be sent directly to you. This allows you to review your record, ensure its accuracy, and then present it as needed.

How many ink cards do I need to have done?

The number of completed cards depends on the agency requesting the fingerprint submission. Contact them to get more information on how many cards they require.

Can I reuse an old fingerprints for another purpose?

No, yu cannot reuse the previous fingerprint cards for different purpose. Each card is processed through a specific agency and tied to a particular request. If another agency requires a fingerprint card, you must complete a new one, regardless of how recent the previous one was submitted.

Do you mail the ink card?

Generally, it is the applicant's responsibility to mail the card to the appropriate agency. However, there are some circumstances that require us to mail the card on behalf of the applicant.
